Lusofonia as intervention: postcolonial intercultural traffic in lusophone hip hop events

This presentation traces aspects of lusophone hip hop in Lisbon over the last twenty years. Starting from the landmark compilation Rapública (1994), I analyze festivals, phonograms and collaborations that ultimately evidence a quest for social recognition and participatory cultural citizenship.
